Carl Barat, Dirty Pretty Things

People don’t necessarily realise there’s still such a problem and that there’s something rotten in the state of racism in this country. I support this cause and encourage everybody to do the same.

Carl Barat is now the lead singer with Dirty Pretty Things, along with fellow ex-Libertine, drummer Gary Powell. DPT have started like a rocket with sell-out tours and rave reviews. Check out their website

The Libertines split shortly after releasing their second album when Pete Doherty left the band. Britpop in its best possible sense, The Libertines’ knack for penning tight, nervy songs that evoke the Jam and the Buzzcocks won them national and international acclaim. The band were a key part of Love Music Hate Racism’s successful 2004 London Astoria gig, headlining with the Buzzcocks.
