NCADC benefit, Liverpool

Date: Thu 20th July, 8pm.

Lineup: Amsterdam’s Ian Prowse, Alun Parry, Fayze 2, The Mojave Collective

Venue: The Magnet, Hardman St, Liverpool

A benefit concert in aid of refugees will go ahead this month despite intimidation by fascists.

The concert, which will raise money for NCADC, an organisation that helps those under threat of deportation, has been targetted by a fascist hate site. The site, which publishes photographs and home addresses of people it disagrees with, was linked to the recent knife attack on Merseyside trade unionist Alec McFadden. Angela Eagle MP recently said in Parliament, “there appears to be a pattern of violence which is aimed at individuals who are targeted by this website which cannot simply be a coincidence.”

The event takes place at The Magnet in Hardman Street on Thursday 20th July and features a collection of top local musical talent including Alun Parry, Amsterdam’s Ian Prowse, Fayze 2, and The Mojave Collective.

Alun Parry is an acoustic songwriter who is an established feature of the North West music scene. Nerve Magazine said of him: “He delivers his own fiery brand of gritty folk/rock with a vigorous sincerity and an infectious sense of fun and energy.”

Amsterdam was one of John Peel’s favourite bands and Elvis Costello says they’re incredible. Amsterdam’s lead singer Ian Prowse will be performing a rocking acoustic set of their songs.

Fayze 2 are a sensational indie band with a huge North West following. They are set for time in the recording studio following a recent Battle of the Bands prizewinning performance.

The Mojave Collective are an outstanding six piece band from Liverpool, mixing rock, country and indie into a unique winning blend.
