October is of course designated Black History Month (BHM). We are delighted announce two BHM events at Barking College later this month – in the borough where the fascist BNP have 12 local councillors. The events are organised by Barking College, the GMB union and LMHR to celebrate both Black History and also our shared black and white people’s history of fighting racism. The events will bring together educators and students, trade union members, music artists, celebrities and politicians and of course campaigners and local community groups in one place for the first time since the election of the BNP councillors in Barking & Dagenham in May.
