Around 2,000 people packed into top London club Fabric last Thursday, for a massive fundraiser for LMHR.
Babyshambles were joined by Pogues legend Shane McGowan for “Dirty Old Town”
Curated by Babyshambles’ Drew McConnell, this was LMHR’s most ambitious musical line-up yet with an exciting mix of more than 30 of the UK’s most exciting young acts across three rooms of grime, indie, hip-hop and drum’n'bass. This, along with the increasingly close involvement of high-profile artists in LMHR – some of whom have been targeted by the Nazi ‘Redwatch’ website for their pains – led to major articles about the event and LMHR in the NME, Time Out, BBC Radio and The Independent among many more. Our anti-fascist merchandise was hugely popular. Hundreds signed up to get more involved in the anti-fascist movement, with a great response to UAF leaflets advertising this weekend’s anti-BNP rally in Barking & Dagenham.
Grime MCs Unite! Including Jammer, NASTY, L Man, Skepta + more
The event was addressed by speakers including David Okoro, cousin of murdered black Liverpool teenager Anthony Walker who received thunderous applause, as well as Siobhan Endean, national Equality officer for the Amicus trade union and Weyman Bennett from Unite Against Fascism.

LMHR plans further high-profile gigs in BNP target areas like Barking & Dagenham, Stoke and West Yorkshire early in 2007. The money raised at Fabric will help pay for this work and events. To get involved in your area keep checking the site.
