LMHR SCHOOLS CD – FREE ON THE COVER OF THE NME

NME – the LMHR issue. In shops: Wednesday 17th October 2007

The LMHR CD for schools, supported by the NME and the National Union of Teachers (NUT) has drawn a fantastic response with many top artists contributing exclusive tracks. The CD will be covermounted on the 20th October issue of the NME, and nme.com will be hosting a LMHR minisite from where you can download the tracks. Read on for full details, or go straight to www.nme.com/lovemusichateracism

This special edition of the NME will feature a special LMHR-themed cover bringing together Lethal Bizzle, Babyshambles, Bloc Party, Dirty Pretty Things, The View and The Enemy, as well as feature articles about LMHR including a roundtable discussion with the artists on racism, the BNP and music.

The CD was sparked into life after LMHR and some of the artists who support us heard about the fascist BNP setting up their ‘Great White Records’ label and reports of the BNP using CDs of “white power” music to recruit school students to their violent racist organisation. Particular credit must go to Kill City’s Lisa Moorish and to Babyshambles bassist Drew McConnell for getting the ball rolling and getting other artists and sympathetic music industry figures involved.
