AROUND 100 PEOPLE JOIN UAF AND LMHR FOR STOKE'S RALLY AGAINST THE NAZI'S

Around 100 people attended the Unity Rally held in Stoke on 6th Oct. The Rally was called jointly by NORSCARF, Love Music Hate racism and UAF and saw Mark Fisher MP join a vibrant line up of speakers to debate and discuss ways to oppose the BNP in Stoke. The rally followed the successful 500-strong mobilisation against a BNP demo in the city on September 20th.

Trade union regional organisers from NASUWT and PCS joined local LMHR activist Atiqir Rahman, Weyman Bennett National Secretary from UAF and the President of Staffs. Student union Fi Woods.

A very lively discussion concluded with a call for unity and agreed activities including a conference, a Stoke mass day of action and local LMHR gigs in some of the towns.

The audience included local Labour and Lib Dem councillors, students, pensioners and many from the diverse faith communities of Stoke.
