In the wake of the election of the fascist British National Party’s Richard Barnbrook to the Greater London Assembly (GLA), the 12 councillors elected in Barking and Dagenham and especially with the current economic situation we are eager to ensure that the BNP do not exploit their current positions and are opposed them wherever possible, discrediting their racist myths and propaganda.
We have had many successful days of action in the area and the Love Music Hate Racism (LMHR) Carnival at the end of April showed the mass multicultural audience opposed to racism and fascism.
We want to organise from this meeting future event within the community. in a celebration of With the coming European election in June 2009 and local council elections in 2010, We want to hold local stalls and events, as well as days of activity and gigs to celebrate unity, diversity and opposition to racism and the fascism of the BNP.
We want raise awareness of the threat the BNP poses and this meeting will allow us to discuss plans for events and activity to help build an effective campaign to stop them in these elections. Everyone is welcome.
