What would our record shops look like if the racists got their way? The fascist British National Party wants to see an “all white Britain”…

The Love Music Hate Racism festival in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday 30 May has unveiled its latest headline act: Peter Doherty, the acclaimed singer songwriter and lead singer of Babyshambles. He joins R&B star Kelly Rowland, formerly of Destiny’s Child, at what is shaping up to be one of the year’s hottest musical events — and one that sends out a powerful anti-racist message in the run-up to the 4 June elections. Dear Friends
In the run-up to the European Election I would like to draw your attention to a set of channels on the video sharing website …

R&B star Kelly Rowland is confirmed to play at LMHR’s 2009 Festival in Stoke. Kelly was a founder member of Destiny’s Child, the biggest r&b group in the world over the last 20 years. The singer/songwriter has worked as a solo artist since the band split in 2005 and has had chart-topping hits, won a string of Grammy’s and other prestigious awards and become well know for her work with young people affected by HIV/AIDS all over the globe. She is flying in from the US especially for the event.
Kelly said: “its great to be involved in such worthwhile cause. Racism is still an issue in everyday society and I think its so important to help raise awareness.” We’ve still got at least one headliner to be announced for the massive anti-racist event timed to help mobilise people to vote against fascist parties in June 4th’s European elections. More acts were today added to the LMHR Stoke Festival bill. Clash legend Mick Jones is bringing his new band The Rottenhill Gang, ace Manc ska-poppers Kid British are playing, and outstanding DJ and Roots Manuva producer Toddla T will be playing the DJ/dance arena. We’re also delighted to announce that brilliant much-loved surreal comic Eddie Izzard will be among those speaking and compering at the Festival.
