Anti-racists everywhere will have been appalled at the racist intimidation meted out to Romanian familes living in Belfast recently. At the same time, many local residents have shown their disgust for the actions of the racists and given much support to the families affected, including a hundreds-strong rally organised in under a day. LMHR NI have been involved in building the protests and the solidarity. To show your support please send messages to the Chair of the Anti Racism Network in Belfast – email: Bmuldoon2000@yahoo.co.uk

Reverend & The Makers’ frontman Jon McClure today leaked early an anti-BNP song ‘Manifesto/People Shapers’, free online via Jon’s Twitter page, http://twitter.com/jonmcclure – to show the band’s disgust at the election of two Nazi MEPs. The song will be featured on the bands’ forthcoming new album, slated for release next month. The Rev – who was at yesterday’s UAF/LMHR-organised protest in Sheffield against the election of BNP Nazi Andrew Brons in Yorkshire & Humberside – wrote the song after his experience of being involved in organising last autumn’s LMHR gig headlined by Kaiser Chiefs in Rotherham. In the build-up to the anti-BNP gig, Jon’s family received threatening phone calls from BNP members.
