Keep the racist EDL out of east London!

Love Music Hate Racism is supporting our sister organisation Unite Against Fascism at a rally and demo against the racist thugs of the English Defence League.

The EDL – which has links to the nazi British National Party – wants to march through Tower Hamlets in east London – a multiracial, multicultural community, including many Muslims. We want to show our unity against the racism and division of the EDL.

The EDL thugs have been targeting Muslims and mosques, whipping up hatred, division and violence where they has been allowed to march. EDL supporters have paraded their violence on YouTube and have been caught on camera giving Nazi salutes during their rallies and marches.

Show the EDL we won’t let them divide our community!

For more about the EDL, check out this undercover report by the Guardian newspaper, which reveals the racism and violence of the EDL – and their plans to β€œhit” major cities with multiracial populations over the next few months. The threat to march in Tower Hamlets is part of this plan.

The recent Tower Hamlets march against the EDL last Sunday was a brilliant expression of UNITY against fascism and racism, in an area rich in history and struggle.

This is an area which has previously witnessed massive demonstrations and mobilisations against racism and fascism in the 1970′s, 80′s and 90′s and most famously against Mosley’s blackshirts at the Battle of Cable street in 1936.

    Lest we forget

    NO PASARAN !

    The struggle continues….
