On Saturday July 30th Hundreds of Camden residents and anti-fascist campaigners came together for a family festival organised by Love Music Hate Racism and Castlehaven Community Association.
The event was arranged following a rise in racist attacks in the Chalk Farm area of Camden, and aimed to raise awareness of anti-racism in the borough. Local bands Gaoler’s Daughter, the Supernovas and the Breadstealers all showed their support for the cause, with poets Superstead and MC Scribbles emphasising the importance of unity in the face of attacks. Martin Smith, LMHR national organiser, reminded the crowd of the important role communities play in fighting racism, and urged everyone to attend the demonstration against the racist EDL on 3 September in Tower Hamlets.
